ni. I am not microchipped still SRC will furnish a microchip for me. I have all my vaccinations, been neutered and have been evaluated for 2-3 weeks by my foster mom who have gone through SRC's approval process. People say that am a sweetheart, and that although I did not have one in my first home I would enjoy having a yard to explore. I am used to a quiet life with my human dad. He taught me how to sit on command. Our life together was the only home I have know up to this point. We loved each other very much and I miss him. I get along very well with all the dogs in my neighborhood, and I am not afraid of the big canines either. I absolutely adore car rides! My manners are stellar since I show no aggression with food so other dogs in my future adoptive family will be fine. My adoptive family will need to give me plenty of love to help me get over losing my beloved human dad. My foster mom is helping me to enjoy life once again, still I don't jump for treats and still like a quiet home. My foster family is located in Mt. Pleasant, SC .
CHARLIE'S STORY
CHARLIE with this unique identification number: (SRC#3603 ) came into SRC custody and care a few weeks ago. Charlie was the apple of his human daddy's eye. They spent all their time together and Charlie was very well cared for. Unfortunately Charlie's human dad became very ill and he passed away a few weeks ago. Charlie was not in the room where his human dad passed, yet he went for 5 days without food until someone came to check on them. Charlie ended up staying in the residence after his human dad was taken away, and the man's daughter drove from Virginia to Raleigh, NC to care for him. SRC was able to assist and accepted Charlie into their care as soon as she told them about the situation. The man's daughter loves Charlie too and wanted to assure that he was placed in a home where he would receive the same loving care that her father had given him. She was not able to take him home with her because she has two Pitts and it was feared that Charlie might manage very well with them since they were not always friendly to other dogs . Charlie is a healthy little boy and he loves attention. He is very well behaved, and knows how to walk on a leash. He does very well with all the dogs he has met, so another dog in his adoptive family will not be an issue. Charlie is not at all aggressive with his food. Charlie does really love car rides. When Charlie first came to his foster home, he was still nervous from his experience from losing his beloved human dad. Charlie loves to graze out the window and one has to wonder if he is watching for his human dad to come to pick him up . Charlie is a quiet little boy and really enjoys a good cuddle. He gets along well with other dogs, but he has not been exposed to cats. He is almost as small as most cats so it would not be likely that he was be aggressive toward them. This handsome Mini Schnauzer deserves to have a loving home to spend the rest of his years. No doubt he thought he would always be with his first human dad, and he does like men yet he thoroughly enjoys attention from his foster mom. There is a photo of them posted and it is obvious that Charlie likes her! For those of you that enjoy helping the more mature Minis, Charlie would be a perfect candidate. He truly deserves a permanent home, and you will really enjoy this sweetheart's company.
Charlie's perfect adopter is one who will be home with him all day, either someone who is retired or someone who works from home. He loves a daily walk and cuddle time afterward. Of course he will be thrilled to be taken for car rides too. Charlie shows no fear of large dogs. He will be fine if there is an additional dog in the adoptive family who opens their heart to Charlie as long as they are friendly too. If you want to have a meet and greet that can be arranged, still Charlie did very well with all the other dogs he has met thus far.
His adoption donation is $225, and is tax deductible.

When ready for adoption, this canine will have been evaluated for a minimum of two weeks by loving SRC foster parents who will be able to give the adoptive parents their opinion about the demeanor of the family companion prior to the adoptive parents finalizing their adoption of this canine. All our SRC volunteers strive to do this for the well-being of their rescued canine and to assure a successful adoption. It is our worthy mission to assure that each canine rescued by SRC is placed in a loving and stable permanent home whose family members will treat it as a beloved member of their immediate family. We are prepared to assure that all of our rescued dogs are in great homes or we will reclaim them if necessary. SRC’s rescued dogs are placed in foster homes throughout NC, SC, TN, and VA until they are adopted. These same states are SRC's approved adoption areas so please do not apply unless you live in one of these states. You must be willing to drive to the dog's foster home in order to adopt the canine. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio. BEFORE meeting an SRC dog, you must be approved to adopt by our Placement Team. Our downloadable Adoption Application is on the Homepage of our Website where you may also find our Foster Application and Volunteer Application should you want to use these instead. Here is the address of our Homepage for you: schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas/ Once you have completed the application, please include your vet medical records along with photos of your home (interior and exterior including your yard) -- these may be used in lieu of a home visit due to the problems with issues with the pandemic. These changes have been initiated for the protection of our applicants and for our volunteers while we are dealing with Covid-19. Once the virus has subsided to the point that people are not dying with this horrific virus, SRC will go back to our standard protocol with home visits being conducted. These will not be done until contagion is not an issue. The revised documentation may be submitted via email and/or fax (1-910-401-1317). You may request an Adoption Application at our email address: mcguirea493gmail Please plan on welcoming your new dog into your home within two weeks after approval. We cannot hold dogs because this limits our intake of others in need; SRC adopts them out on a first-come, first-serve basis based on a completed approved adoption process. If you are unable to accept your adopted dog within this time frame then SRC will go to the next approval and place with someone able to give the rescue a home within the proper time frame. SRC does not ordinarily adopt its dogs to families with children under ten years of age. Exceptions are sometimes made on a case by case basis but only when the dog has been raised with children and the children are very respectful of animals. This is for the protection of the dogs and for the protection of the children. Procedures will be explained to you at the time of approval regarding donation and contract. Your donation is made in honor of the adoption of your new family companion and is never a purchase of an animal. This tax deductible donation goes forward to help incoming rescued dogs. Our average total expense per dog includes but is not limited to the list of expenses shown below. We put our heart and souls into saving their lives. Often the medical expense, time and effort expended to help these dogs, far outweighs the minimal donation requested to adopt these innocent ones. Please understand SRC is limited in the number of dogs in our safe haven and if you are not selected to adopt one of them, it is not a reflection on your ability to provide a good home for a canine, simply our lack of ability to provide for the overwhelming demand from applicants. SRC urges you to pursue rescue -- it is definitely a worthy mission even if you do not adopt from SRC.
