ul girl with a curious nature and a playful, affectionate side that makes her impossible not to love. When she first came into foster care, she had a long seven-hour car ride home—and she handled it like a pro. Calm, patient, and trusting from the start, Sugar showed right away that she’s a resilient and loving companion.
Sugar settled into her foster home quickly, making herself comfortable on her new memory foam bed (she clearly has great taste) and enjoying her growing collection of toys. She doesn’t get on furniture, but she loves to be near her people, following them from room to room to see what’s going on. She’s a little nosy, a little goofy, and always wants to be part of the action.
She’s fully housetrained, walks well on a leash most of the time, and rides beautifully in the car. Sugar does have a few quirks, though—she can be destructive when left alone for long periods, so she’ll need a home where someone is around much of the time. She also resource guards her food, so she’ll need to be fed separately from other pets or placed in an only-dog home. She’s worth the extra care, as she’s affectionate, smart, and eager to please once she feels secure.
Sugar has met a variety of dogs and enjoys playing when introductions are done slowly and carefully. She might prefer to be the leader in a multi-dog home, but she’s also done well with non-dominant playmates. She adores cats and is very gentle with them, often checking under furniture to make sure her feline friends are nearby.
When it comes to people, Sugar is a total socialite. She’s done great meeting new faces—from trick-or-treaters to football tailgaters—and she soaks up all the attention she can get. Whether she’s greeting delivery workers with a wagging tail or charming a crowd of kids, she’s friendly, well-mannered, and loves to be adored.
Her ideal home would be one with plenty of space for her to stretch her legs and get her zoomies out—a fenced yard would be perfect. She thrives on human attention and wants to be part of your daily life, whether that’s joining you for a walk, a nap, or a backyard adventure.
Sugar is young, energetic, and full of personality. She’ll make a wonderful companion for someone who can give her structure, time, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a loyal, funny, and affectionate Great Dane who will keep you smiling and make every day a little sweeter, Sugar might just be your perfect match.
