the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 11/14/25 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Lime is neutered, up to date on core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo and Bordetella) and is heartworm tested, negative and on preventatives. He is also microchipped. Lime was a double cryptorchid meaning both his testicles were inside his body. This was corrected through neuter surgery. He had a sore on his face, unsure why but it has healed completely. He may have gotten stuck on something. His previous owner noted it when giving him to us but did not know how the injury occurred and once it was cleaned and he was on antibiotics for a few days, it cleared right up. He also had 4 retained baby teeth removed. Lime was also diagnosed with ear mites. We are treating this now and he will be continuing treatment through the end of December. He can be adopted by an owner who commits to continuing the treatment. Weight: 7 lbs - may hit 9 lbs before he becomes full grown Height: 8 in at the shoulder now and I think will gain another 1/2" inch..maybe Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $499 Fence needed? No although he would enjoy several outside off leash play times regularly. Lime has no experience walking on a leash currently, but he is young and eager to learn all the things to make you happy. He can learn this skill. What kind of home would be best for me? Lime is a playful, affectionate puppy looking for his very first (and we hope his furever) home of his own. So far in his short life, his life has been full of dogs, and we think he would enjoy a canine companion. However, for a home that is committed to play dates (doggie day care, training classes or meet up with friends with other small dogs) a minimum of 3 times per week and to a person who is home more than they are away, we think Lime would thrive. Lime is a very quiet little boy. He could do well with shared walls (apartments, town home) or in a single-family home. He is tiny and has no experience at all with children so older (over 10), considerate small dog savvy children only please. What is my personality like? Bubbly and affectionate. Lime loves life and is ready to learn and go and do and see and become a human's bestest buddy. Lime (Key Lime Pie, Limey boy, Kiwi kid - he has a lot of nicknames) has never really enjoyed a life with laps and couch time. He has been a kennel dog his entire short 7 months on earth. He is eager to learn something different. When you try to pick Lime up, he flattens, belly crawls a few feet and then he will be still so you can pick him up. We think it's learned behavior and with time and life experience, he will grow up to stand tall. Have you ever seen markings quite so striking. He looks like he is wearing a raccoon mask of creamy caramel around his eyes and over his ears. Maybe we should have named him Ricky R! Bottom line - Lime is a work in progress and a beautiful one. He is still very much a puppy and needs a loving owner to teach him how to be a perfect poodle pet. How do I act when I first meet new people? A bit timid - he has not met a lot of people in his short life. He will get better. When you do get him in your arms, he's all about being loved. Other tips and tidbits: Lime's birthday is 04/13/25. Lime came from a breeder and while we do not have his registration papers, we believe he is a purebred toy poodle. He does not shed and appears to be hypoallergenic. House trained? Lime is currently crate trained (he sleeps in his crate with two foster sibling sisters right now) He is allowed access to pee pads but is also encouraged to go outside. He still squats to pee. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
