Artie is a sprinter, not a marathoner: she loves short bursts of high-energy play and then settles beautifully in the home. She would thrive with an active adopter who enjoys hiking, wants to explore beginner dog sports, or simply loves a dog who is always excited for the next fun thing. She is almost fully housebroken, is friendly with new people, and genuinely adores adults and older children who have learned to be respectful of dogs. Artie also gets along with most other dogs, but she isn’t big on sharing toys or food, so she’d do best as either an only dog or with a very savvy, structured home that can manage resources thoughtfully. She can be dog selective so a slow introduction is necessary. Artie is confident and environmentally stable, not much fazes her. She’s affectionate, social, and happiest when snuggled up next to you. She does have some FOMO behaviors in the crate, but she improves significantly when crated away from high excitement. Because of her high prey drive, Artie should not live with small pets. She is being fostered by her trainer (we just love a well trained dog!) and will come with an instruction manual of how to keep her new-found structure going to keep her on her learning journey. (In other words, she is an energetic young dog that needs to have boundaries enforced and her trainer can help you understand what that looks like.)
