s graceful, loving, and downright joyful, L'oreal, whom we affectionately call Ellie, is your girl. This stunning all-white, 85 pound, German Shepherd girl survived a difficult life on the streets, leaving her teeth worn and her age a bit of a mystery. Her foster mom estimates she’s around eight to ten years old, but what truly shines through is her spirit — warm, steady, grateful, and ready to love with her whole heart. Ellie has the most incredible temperament. She’s calm and snuggly, endlessly patient, and still full of playful, goofy bursts that make everyone smile. She lovessss a ball and a stuffed animal. She adores the three young children in her foster home (all age five and under) and treats them with remarkable gentleness and maternal instinct. Whether she’s playing fetch with the 1.5-year-old, following the big kids around the house, or simply curling up beside them, Ellie is a dream with little ones. She would thrive in a home with children or grandchildren. She is also fantastic with other dogs. Ellie loves to play — truly loves it — and spends her days as the happy partner in crime to her foster family’s resident German Shepherd. They play together constantly, and Ellie’s joyful, social nature makes her an excellent fit for a home with another friendly dog. She does play with mouthy play so a medium to large size playmate might work best. On walks, Ellie is an absolute gem. She has zero leash reactivity, zero dog reactivity, and walks beautifully by your side. She also has impressive recall and responds to her name with enthusiasm. She’s been her foster mom’s gardening buddy, calmly exploring the yard and sticking close by, because her favorite place in the world is simply next to her person. For these reasons, Ellie.does not need a fenced in yard. She does have prey drive with small animals in the yard, however. Ellie is thriving in the home. She is doing wonderfully with stairs and is fully crate trained — she loves her crate and settles comfortably when her foster family leaves the house. At night, she sleeps on a dog bed in her foster parents’ room. As for cats, her temperament is still unknown, but she has not shown strong chase tendencies so far. More than anything, Ellie wants a family of her own. After surviving so much, she deserves soft beds, gentle hands, and a place where she can finally rest knowing she is safe and loved. She has so much affection to give and lights up at every bit of attention. If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, loving companion with a heart as beautiful as her snowy coat, Ellie is waiting for you. She is ready to begin her new life — a life filled with joy, comfort, and the family she has always deserved. Interested in adding this wonderful lady to your family?
