But Zeus isn’t just about fetch. Beneath his athletic side is a big, sensitive sweetheart who loves nothing more than to curl up and snuggle like he’s a 10-pound lapdog. He’s proof that even big dogs can be softies at heart.
Zeus has lived peacefully with cats before, so he may be open to some feline friends in his next home. He’s still pending a dog-to-dog test, so stay tuned for updates on how he does with canine companions!
Zeus has been deemed Potentially Dangerous in Maryland due to repeated incidents of running loose, barking, and behaving aggressively toward other people and dogs. This is not the same as being deemed dangerous—it simply means he’ll need a responsible adopter committed to keeping him safely managed. For more details, our staff will be happy to explain what this means.

Zeus's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption
Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. Dogs: Preventatives for parasites, vaccines (Kennel Cough, Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip, behavioral assessment.
Cats: Parasite treatment, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming for kittens, vaccines (Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip.
