Will go to door when he wants to go out Crate Training (X-large) -Sleeps quietly through the night in the crate -He can stay for 3-4 hours during the day as long as his needs were met prior (fed, potty break, excercise/play or long walk). -If he gets frustrated or needs a potty break, he will get restless.  He unstuffed a bed so no stuffed bedding in the crate.  I ended up using a durable crate matt covered in a bed sheet and left only a durable rope toy, durable chew toy (non edible) and kong.  He has had no interest in eating treats in the crate. -His crate is in a seperate bedroom and he settles in it by himself. He has done well in all instances (if I am in the room, in another room, or if left completely alone in the house).  Thankfully I did not witness any seperation anxiety.  I monitored him via web camera. X-Pen (4ft)  -Similar to crate. I put him in one if he was getting overstimulated and needed to calm down.  Overall, Latte is going to be a wonderful dog as long as the adopter is committed to providing additional training and meeting his excercise needs. A lot of people we met really liked him. He charmed so many people with his friendly nature. Car passenger  -Rides calmly in the back of an SUV.  He'll lay or sit nicely. One of the best dogs I have had in the car. Friendly  -He thinks everyone wants to pet him.   Baby gate -Respects 2 ft barrier at hallway when we are home.  Fetch -Returns and drops ball 95% of the time -He gets very excited and may  pounce, jump or get mouthy so I worked on having him sitting before each ball toss.  He will sit when asked and will auto-sit most of the time if I give him time to rememner what is expected. -This was a great way to help him get his excercise needs met. Food -No resource gaurding.  I could take away a chew when needed, be near his food while he was eating.   He is working to improve these skills and made some progress: Jumping -He gets jumpy when he meets new people while walking.  Sometimes he will autosit, but then forget his manners.   -When he is overly excited or if he wants something such play time or to throw a ball or toy Mouthy  -He can get very mouthy, sometimes during playtime or while he is receiving affection, and when he is tired. I tried redirection to a toy, walking away from whatever we were doing.  If he hasn't eaten recently, then a bully stick worked to keep his interest and settle.  Last resort, we would put him in the x-pen or crate to settle down and this worked well. Digging  -He enjoys digging but never got far as I would interrupt him by playing ball. Chewing others belongings  -He mostly left things alone in the house unless he was bored and wanted someone to play with him.  This was when he might try to chew something other than his toys. -I never left him unsupervised inside or outside in order to prevent any distrdistructive behaviors  Loose Leash Walking  -He did very well during the day in familiar places in neighborhood and on `main street` walks. -He pulls when nervous, if he wants to sniff, if he sees a moving squirrel, sometimes towards people and dogs if he wants to say hi.  -He does not bark at other dogs, even if they bark at him.  He may pull if they are barking, but displays no other reactivity -He seems less comfortable with nighttime walks, so we kept them shorter, mainly for potty breaks. -He pulls more on nature walks, likely due to the added stimulation. Training commands (verbal and hand signals):  I worked with him on Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave it.  He needs more work but usually does very well with Sit, Down, and is decent with Come.
