oxy — Our Hidden Gem Meet Roxy, a breathtaking brindle beauty with a heart as big as her smile. Around 3 years old, this confident and charismatic girl came to us after being surrendered to a North Jersey shelter. Despite a difficult start, Roxy has proven to be resilient, joyful, and full of love—and we truly can’t understand why she’s still waiting. Roxy is one of our longest residents, and it’s time her story changes. She is a large, strong girl with a moderate energy level and a wonderful balance of playfulness and affection. Roxy loves running in the yard, playing fetch, and enjoying life, but she’s equally content curling up with her people once the fun is done. She forms deep, meaningful bonds and is incredibly loving and loyal to those she trusts—once she chooses you, you are her person. Roxy has successfully completed a Board and Train program and absolutely thrived—earning the nickname “teacher’s pet.” She’s eager to please, enjoys structure, and would flourish in a home that continues reinforcing her training and confidence. Roxy is dog-tolerant, and if there is already a pet in the home, a meet-and-greet would be required to ensure a good match. Because of her size and strength, she’s best suited for a home with older children. A fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and play would be a dream come true. Roxy is loving. She’s loyal. She’s fun. And she has so much to give. All she’s missing is someone willing to see past the length of her stay and recognize the incredible companion standing right in front of them. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will love you with her whole heart, Roxy is ready—and she’s been waiting. ***Update: Roxy has completed her professional training and was in a temporary foster home over the holiday weekend. She was amazing, so well-behaved, and so happy to be in a home. Sadly, she is now back at the kennel and is very sad and down.
