and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 10/29/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Penny was surrendered by her breeder to a SC shelter, from the shelter she came to us Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Penny is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 11/12/25 Penny had a dental with 4 extractions. She also had a deep ear cleaning. Weight: 14 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $825 for Penny and Cindy together - they are a team and we will not split them up Fence needed? Not necessarily although neither are super on a leash just yet. If adopted to a non fenced home, it would take some time and patience. Both are busy girls when in the yard and love the freedom of a fenced in space. First preference will be given to single family fenced in yards but to the right person. we can discuss a non fenced in area. What kind of home would be best for me? Penny and Cindy are looking for a home where they can live peacefully together. They are a bonded pair, always looking for each other. They would not be happy without each other. Please do not ask if we can split them up. The shelter that sent them to us specifically requested they be together and after 30 days of observation, we absolutely agree. They need each other. The nice thing about a bonded pair is, if you work all day, they have each other for company. They do not need someone home all the time. They are perfectly content playing poodley girl games while you are away and once your home, it'll be a lap sandwich with one on each side of you in the recliner. They love people and want one of their own but they have each other, too. Penny and Cindy are sweet, gregarious girls who are looking for a home together. They get along great with other dogs and would do well with companions or with just the two of them. What is my personality like? Penny is the leader of the small pack of two. She bosses Cindy around but she is also constantly checking on Cindy and making sure she knows where her bestie is at. Penny is strong and active. She loves to be at her people's feet and when you are home, you'll have two tiny satellites surrounding you and checking in what you are doing. Penny especially is a "door dasher" - the minute a door opens, she is through it and can't wait to see what is on the other side. If the door closes, she can bounce up a good 3' trying to see what she can see and convince you to open that door. Both girls are good in the car although we do have them riding in their crate for safety. Speaking of crates, Penny and Cindy currently sleep together in a medium size crate. They keep it very clean at night. We can't guarantee house training, so our suggestion is a crate in your bedroom for the first 30 days, then transition to you bed if you want. We think they would enjoy night time snuggles very much once they know your routine. Penny and Cindy also are very obviously trained to pee pads. We use washable ones here and if the door is not open fast enough, they are sprinting for the nearest pee pad to do business especially first thing. I know some people do not like pee pads in the house but these two have obviously used one their entire lives. It means you have to be careful with having throw rugs because they look like pee pads to a dog. To us, it's a blessing to have a dog trained to pads. How do I act when I first meet new people? Very friendly and if your in a chair, you'll very soon have two bundles of poodle in your lap. Make room - they will both be up there. Other tips and tidbits: Penny is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate her birthday 09/23/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
