12/25/25 Foster Feedback: Kayah has been making wonderful progress in her foster home and continues to show how adaptable and resilient she is. She’s integrating beautifully into daily household life, relaxing on the couch with her people, settling calmly around the other dogs, and responding well to structure and guidance.
Kayah has also participated in training classes at Down Dog Studio, where she did great and showed strong engagement, focus, and a willingness to learn in a structured group environment.
Kayah is doing an excellent job coexisting with dog-savvy cats and has been appropriate and respectful in the home with older children, showing growing impulse control and the ability to settle around normal household activity.
Like many teenage pups, Kayah still has happy bursts of puppy energy and can get jumpy when she’s excited, but she has made significant improvement with consistency and gentle redirection. She’s eager to learn, wants to do the right thing, and continues to build a strong foundation that will set her up for success in her future home.
12/1/25 Foster Feedback: Kayah is learning how to feel safe in the world — and she is blooming.
She came to us overwhelmed, unsure how to settle, unsure how to rest, and unsure how to “just be a dog.” With patience, structure, and a predictable routine, this brilliant girl is discovering that life doesn’t have to be loud to be good.
Her personality is BIG — loyal, smart, funny, sensitive, dramatic, and deeply connected to her person. She tries her absolute hardest every single day, and it shows. Watching her learn that she can regulate, relax, and feel proud of herself has been one of the most rewarding parts of fostering her.
Kayah isn’t a plug-and-play dog — she is a dog you fall in love with while watching her grow. And the family who gets to keep helping her blossom is going to feel like they won the lottery.
11/20/25 Foster Feedback: Kayah is an 8-month-old Shepherd mix who brings big heart and big laughs to the people she loves. She’s athletic, toy-motivated, and very eager to bond with her person. Once she warms up, she is loyal, affectionate, and wants nothing more than to be included and do the right thing
Kayah is in her "teenage dog" era- smart, curious, sometimes impulsive and definitely still learning. Recently returned to the rescue through no fault of her own, Kayah thrives with structure, guidance and predictable routines. In her current foster home, she is working on:
Sharing space politely with other dogs
Settling when excited
Redirection when she wants attention or play
Kayah has made great progress when her humans provide clear leadership.
She could live with other dogs with proper introductions and guidance, especially if the resident dogs are confident and tolerant of puppy-like play.
Kayah would do best in a home that:
enjoys an active, playful dog has experience with bigger, energetic breeds can provide consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement
6/30/25 Foster Feedback: Kayah had a great time at the Meet the Dogs event at Natural Pet Center! She met so many new friends and was very interested in the excitement in the building. After she was done, a nice long nap was in order. Kayah is patiently waiting for her forever family to come meet her!
6/28/25 Foster Feedback: Kayah is working hard on potty training and coming along SO well! She is just the smartest and has already mastered sit, down, wait and high five. Whoever lands this girl is set up for so much fun. She's a hit at the ballpark every time we go, and knows to greet people calmly and patiently. Kayah is just a little gem.
6/20/25 Foster Home Feedback : Kayah is a 14- week old mixed-breed pup with the heart of an adventurer and the soul of a snuggler. She’s the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet affection—and she’s looking for a forever home that will love her for exactly who she is!
Kayah loves people and is always ready for fun, whether it’s zoomies in the yard, puzzle toys on a rainy day, or learning new tricks (she’s smart and very food motivated!). She’s the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily and curl up beside you when the day is done.
Kayah is currently living in a foster home with dogs and cats. She does well with confident, tolerant dogs who can handle her puppy enthusiasm, but can sometimes be too much for older or sensitive dogs. With cats, she’s respectful and redirectable—she wants to chase, but listens well when told otherwise.
She’s still a young dog and working on her manners (she’s doing great with training!), so she’ll thrive in a home that enjoys continuing positive reinforcement training. She’d do best with an active family or individual who can give her both mental and physical outlets for her energy.
Kayah is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and is making great progress with her leash skills and potty training. She’s a bright, silly, loving girl who’s ready to bond deeply with her people.
