Dog Breed: Dachshund / Mixed (short coat). Prancer is a sweet boy who is looking for a home. He is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana and will be landing in a NJ foster home on 1/10.

Prancer came to our partner rescue with his brother and has bene learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all. He can be a little timid at first, but once he decides you're his person, he'll stick by your side like a shadow. His happy place? Right next to you (or more accurately on your if you'll let him) Prancer isn't the outdoorsy type- a quick potty break and he's ready to head back inside for couch cuddles. He's a calm, low energy boy who would rather curl up than chase a ball. He's made amazing strides in his foster home. Kennel time used to be tough for him but he sleeps through the night next to his foster siblings kennel. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Prancer's your guy! Prancer is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He tested positive for heartworm and has started treatment. We are looking for a foster to complete his treatment here in NJ with 2 visits to our vet at the Barnegat Animal Clinic. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
