Unfortunately, she also suffers from severe osteoarthritis and will require lifelong pain management. Now that she’s recovered from her respiratory infection, she spends time in our volunteer office instead of a kennel because she deserves a softer, quieter space to rest. While she’s comfortable, her mobility has continued to decline, and walking has become increasingly difficult for her. We are approaching a point where we may need to make humane decisions based on her quality of life. But we are not giving up on her yet! Our greatest hope is that she can find a peaceful home first, where she can simply be loved for however much time she has left and giving her dignity, comfort, and warmth outside of a shelter. Maybe with cozy cushions under her tired bones and a calm space to rest, she’ll find more good days than bad. It’s NYE, but our ACTs are still here making sure the shelter pups are settled in for the night. 10 year old Misty is stuck in isolation being treated by our vet team for pneumonia ?? She is beloved by staff because of how politely she sits and waits for her kennel to be cleaned. We could cry!! (and in fact, we will) Misty is on the up n up and remains available to adopt or foster as she gets better. She will need 4-6 weeks of treatment with antibiotics, and ongoing medication for a lil ol lady arthritis ?? she should be kept separate from other dogs during recovery. Misty is seriously SUCH a gem at the shelter, and she doesn’t get much love since she’s out of public view. Please consider coming to the shelter and asking to meet Misty A874220.
