parts of her past still show in moments of caution, what stands out most is how much love she has to give.
At first, Mishka approaches new people and situations with gentle curiosity and cautious optimism. She has never shown aggression — just a thoughtful, careful nature as she learns the world is safe. And once she trusts you, it’s pure joy. When her foster comes home, Mishka greets them with full-body wiggles, happy hops, and the kind of excitement that feels like a celebration.
She loves close connection — leaning in for hugs, curling up for cuddles, and sleeping soundly through the night. You can tell that safe, restful sleep is something she hasn’t always known, and now that she has it, she truly soaks it in. Mishka seems deeply grateful for the simple things: a warm home, a full belly, and kind hands.
An incredible mama, Mishka has been patient, gentle, and loving with her puppies. As devoted as she is, it’s clear she’s ready for her next chapter — one where she gets to be someone’s baby. In her foster home, she fits in beautifully alongside two senior dogs and a puppy. She’s polite and respectful, sometimes a bit avoidant, but clearly interested in play as her confidence continues to grow.
Mishka is potty trained, learning quickly, and does wonderfully with other dogs. She may be a little nervous during first introductions, but with proper decompression and slow, thoughtful meet-and-greets, she would do well in a home with canine companions.
Mishka isn’t flashy or demanding — she’s the kind of dog who appreciates the quiet magic of everyday life. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate soul who will love you deeply and ask for little in return, Mishka may be your perfect match.
Mishka was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.

We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
