in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:12/24/25 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Andy is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Our vet noted that he does have some early dental tartar and will need a dental in the near future. Andy is a small golden-doodle. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Weight: 22 lbs - Andy is under-weight. He needs to gain at least 5 pounds. Height: 16 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Andy is not a dog who thrives in loud, fast-paced, or unpredictable environments. Andy is not looking for chaos, constant activity, or a revolving door of new experiences. What he wants most is calm, consistency, and the chance to settle in without pressure. Andy would do best in a home that already has another confident dog that could mentor and lead him! Transitions are hard for Andy, and a new home will be no exception. He will need time- sometimes more than people expect - to decompress and understand that he is safe. He will need a dedicated person who is willing to teach him slowly, breaking life down into manageable pieces and celebrating small wins along the way. Confidence for Andy will not come overnight, but it will come with steady guidance and repeated positive experiences. Because of his sensitive nature, Andy will do best in a quiet, stable home with predictable routines. A peaceful household where expectations are clear and change is minimal will help him feel grounded. He is not well suited for homes with a lot of hustle, frequent visitors, or constant noise. Instead, Andy needs an adopter who values calm companionship and understands that progress may come in weeks or months rather than days. Andy’s future person should be someone who truly enjoys the process of helping a dog grow - someone patient, observant, and committed to showing him the world gently and at his pace. In return, Andy has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. What is my personality like? Meet Andy, a young small goldendoodle with a gentle soul and a quiet, thoughtful presence. Like many young dogs, he gets into mischief. In his previous home, that mischief included eating a foreign object. When his owners could not afford the life-saving surgery he required, they surrendered him to rescue. Andy has healed from his surgery AND needs close monitoring to ensure he doesn't get into that type of mischief ever again. Andy experiences the world differently than many dogs - he notices everything, processes slowly, and needs time to feel safe before he can truly relax. Andy is the kind of dog who watches first, learns second, and participates last. He isn’t stubborn or unwilling; he’s simply careful. Once he understands that his surroundings are predictable and that his people are trustworthy, his soft and affectionate personality begins to emerge. Those moments of connection feel especially meaningful because they are earned through patience and kindness. How do I act when I first meet new people? Andy is timid and nervous of new people and will need time, patience and understanding to settle in. He is afraid of loud and sudden movements. Other tips and tidbits: Andy's birthday is 12/17/24 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
