ur life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:12/18/25 Reason for being in rescue: Bonnie Mae was found as a stray in South Carolina and landed at a shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bonnie Mae is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Bonnie may was found as a stray. We have absolutely no history on her pre-rescue. Our best guess is that she is a doodle of unknown variety. Only a DNA test will tell. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 43 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes. Bonnie Mae requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Bonnie Mae is young and needs training. She is eager for attention - so eager that she will pull and tug at your clothing, arms and hands to get your attention. Because of this, she is not recommended for a home with children under 12. Bonnie Mae would be happy as an only dog, as long as she continues to have opportunities for socialization and playtime with other dogs—she truly loves their company. What is my personality like? Are you looking for a young dog - but not a puppy - to add to your family then look no further! Meet Bonnie Mae, an estimated four-year-old female Doodle who is ready to go anywhere and everywhere with you! Bonnie Mae absolutely loves people, and she adores other dogs just as much. She truly loves life and wants to experience it all - people, places, adventures, and new things. She has plenty of energy to play, explore, and have fun, but she also knows how to settle down and enjoy quiet moments, happily curling up with you for some cuddle time. Bonnie Mae wants to be part of everything and thrives when she’s involved in daily life with her people. She will need continued basic training and guidance as she matures into a well-mannered, well-rounded companion, but she is at a wonderful age where learning can be both fun and rewarding. Young, fun, affectionate, and full of personality, Bonnie Mae is ready to bring joy, energy, and love to her forever home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Bonnie Mae is full speed ahead, ready to greet you with enthusiasm. Other tips and tidbits: Bonnie Mae was found as a stray. We have no history on her pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 4 years old. We celebrate her birthday 12/18/21. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
