A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

What kind of home would be best for me? Roscoe if a young adult dog who has never known life as a pet. He's spent the first 3.5 years old his life in a breeding facility. You will teach him everything. Roscoe will need help learning how to walk on a leash and adjusting to everyday activities, but he’s eager and receptive when guided with kindness. A loud, fast-paced, or constantly changing environment would likely be overwhelming for him. Roscoe will thrive best in a calm, stable home where routines are predictable and expectations are clear.
Roscoe truly blossoms in the presence of other dogs. He looks to them for reassurance, guidance, and confidence, following their lead as he learns how to navigate new situations. For this reason, he will need another well-adjusted dog in the home - one who can mentor him and help him continue building confidence. He enjoys canine companionship and feels most comfortable when he’s not facing the world alone.
What is my personality like? Roscoe is a phantom Toy Poodle who is just beginning to realize that the world is a big, interesting place. He is a sweet, gentle boy with a tender heart and a slightly timid nature. New experiences can feel overwhelming at first, but Roscoe approaches life thoughtfully, taking everything in at his own pace.
Roscoe is food motivated, which will be a huge help as he learns the basics of training and begins to understand household routines and manners. Roscoe is still learning what it means to be a pet, and he’s discovering that love, safety, and companionship are pretty addictive. With patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement, he will continue to grow into a confident and well-loved companion.
With the right guidance and a canine role model by his side, Roscoe has all the potential to become a deeply loyal, affectionate little dog who finds joy in the simple comforts of home.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Roscoe is still unsure of the world around him. He has a calm and gentle demeanor, but new introductions are still new.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
