She walks nicely on a leash, heels well, and is progressing into more advanced work. One of her most impressive skills is her ability to hold commands like place, sit/stay, and down/stay for extended periods of time (even in a room with multiple people and distractions). She’s a smart dog who enjoys learning and working with her handler. With a low/medium drive for a Malinois, Moon is a great match for someone who wants an active companion without needing a high-intensity working dog. She enjoys walks and staying active, but she’s just as happy relaxing and cuddling with her person afterward. Moon has shown no aggression toward other dogs and has trained around them, learning to remain neutral unless directed otherwise. With people, she tends to bond more quickly with women but has formed a very close relationship with her male foster as well. She is athletic and capable of jumping a 10-foot fence, especially before she fully trusts her environment, so a secure setup and responsible supervision are important while she settles in. Once she builds trust with her person, she becomes very loyal and comfortable staying close. Moon can be a little nervous in confined spaces with unfamiliar people, so she would do best in a calm home that allows her time to build confidence and trust. She is crate trained, house trained, and very well mannered, making her an easy companion in the home. Moon would likely do well with children ages 8 and upwho understand how to respect a dog’s space. At 2 years old and around 65 pounds, Moon is the perfect mix of athletic partner and affectionate cuddle buddy.
