and a heart full of devotion. Fostered in the San Francisco Bay Area, this tiny girl is ready to find her person…and then never leave their side.
Alex is a beauty with a sensitive soul. When she’s unsure, she likes to cocoon herself in blankets until she feels safe. And once she does? Watch out—this girl is incredibly affectionate. Truly, you have not been loved until you’ve been loved by a Chihuahua, and Alex takes that role very seriously. Her happiest place is on a lap or curled up next to her person on the couch, soaking up all the closeness she can get.
She enjoys her kibble, absolutely appreciates treats, and is very interested in anything her humans might be eating (sharing optional, but deeply encouraged in her opinion). Alex will potty outside and is continuing to learn that outside is the only acceptable option—she’s trying hard and making progress.
Alex isn’t experienced on a leash yet, but she does love to chase a ball, showing off her playful side. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate and wakes up thrilled to see her favorite person in the morning—those greetings alone are worth falling in love for.
Alexandria Egypt is a sweet, snuggly, deeply loyal little companion who just needs a soft place to land and someone to adore. If you’re looking for a devoted lap dog with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give, Alex may be your perfect match.

Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5
Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.
Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet.
Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service.
We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.
