Dior Born: January 23, 2025 Breed per DNA test: 37% American Staffordshire Terrier, 28% German Shepherd, 15% American Pitbull Terrier, 12% Boxer, and 6% Dalmatian Meet Dior – Smart, Athletic, and Full of Love Dior is a beautiful, one-year-old mixed breed girl. She is energetic, incredibly intelligent, and has a huge personality to match her athleticism. Dior is very smart and highly trainable — she picks things up fast and loves learning. As an example, she can get excitable around food and initially would lunge for her own food or try to approach our other dogs while they were eating. It only took 20 minutes to train her the “sit, stay, break” command and after two weeks of professional dog training, she also learned - using the remote electronic training collar - to reliably respect boundaries and stay away from the other dogs during mealtimes. She is a super athlete who loves to play and move. She is generally great with other dogs and has been wonderful with our cat (a three-legged Bengal) whom she adores. She understands how to play without being too energetic. Why we are rehoming Dior: We already have two adult American Staffordshire Terriers, and while Dior gets along with them brilliantly most of the time, she has shown dominant/alpha tendencies in our multi-dog household, which has led to occasional scuffles with one of our dogs. Dior is: • Extremely smart and eager to learn • Playful, athletic, and energetic • Good with cats and dogs in general • Best suited for a home where she can be the primary dog or have clear leadership We love Dior very much and want to ensure she finds a home where she can shine and be set up for lifelong success. Our priority is finding the right family — one that understands her strengths and will continue guiding her with patience, consistency, and love. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, intelligent companion and have experience with confident, high-drive dogs, Dior could be an incredible addition to your family. If you are interested in this dog please email us at bobbiespitrescuegmail or message us on socialmedia. We will forward your information to the owner who will be then in contact with you. BPRS has no further involvment in the adoption process unless requested by the owner and/or adopter.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
