llas” themed puppies who thankfully all made our way to Mostly Mutts, where we’ve been growing, thriving, and having lots of fun in our foster homes. Now we’re each ready to find our furever homes with wonderful families of our own! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I love my siblings and would likely enjoy another dog to play with in my new home if you have a nice dog that would like a puppy friend, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I love the 8- and 12-year-olds in my foster home! I’m still in the puppy mouthing stage of life, so know that I’ll need monitoring with younger children and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a wonderful mix of high energy and total cuddle bug. I love being with people and am happiest when I can stay close, whether that means zooming around or curling up to fall asleep in your lap. Overall, I’m a happy, energetic, inquisitive, and curious little pup who’s always ready for fun and affection. / Energy level: Approx. 6-7 though this could change as I grow. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: My foster reports that I show signs of being very smart – I can always sniff out the treats that they hide for me, and I enjoy my little training sessions with the kids in the family. They are working on teaching me ‘high-five’ and I think it’s fun. I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy – so get ready for some training with your new best friend as everyone loves a well-mannered dog. / I sleep with my siblings in a playpen with a crate inside of it to help me start getting accustomed to crate training. I do well with the set-up, but I’m sure there will be an adjustment as I settle into my new home without my siblings. / I’m at the beginning of my potty training and I am potty-aware! When taken outside, I’m the first one to go, and indoors I usually use newspaper or pee pads. I’m taken outside right after coming out of my pen to help me learn a good routine, and when I go potty outside, I get a treat reward – which makes learning even more fun and rewarding for me. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love tug-of-war, enjoy chewing on toys like a typical puppy chewer does, and I love playing with toys. I also enjoy cuddling and following my people around as well as being outside in the yard with them. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
