Quick facts from foster 2/22/26 the sweetest snuggler that really values his play time. He loves to be around everyone and puts a smile on everyone's face! Social, happy go lucky dog. This adorable family of pups led by their loving mom, Carmi instantly put smiles on our faces. They’re a delightful mix of personalities, yet incredibly well-mannered and easy to love. Any household would be lucky to welcome them, as they’re wonderful with dogs of all ages, kids, and adults alike. Carmi is sweet, playful, and devoted to her people, she happily follows the humans around all day and then settles in for cuddles with the kids. Among the pups, Pickle (pink collar) is the energetic ringleader, always in the middle of the action and especially fond of playing with children. Ghost (blue collar) is a gentle, playful sidekick with striking blue eyes and an equally beautiful temperament. Madden (black collar) is a joyful, social snuggler who brings smiles wherever he goes, while Max (red collar), the smallest male, is a tender lap-lover with a calm, sweet nature. Adele (purple collar) is affectionate and well-behaved, starting each day with playful energy, often alongside Zoey (light pink collar), a spirited sweetheart who enjoys sunbathing and stirring up the fun. Sophi (orange collar), the tiniest female, confidently holds her own and loves a cozy snuggle after playtime. This charming crew is full of great companions! 2/10/26 This sweet mama dog is probably under 2yrs of age and was rescued from Tijuana, Mexico mid december 2025 when she gave birth to 7 adorable pups. Mama is likely a shepherd mix a typical baja mutt. She is a perfect medium breed at 40 pounds with a sweet social playful personality. Mom has been spayed and is in such great health! The pups are healthy and have had their second set of vaccines (adopters must follow with their family to continue vaccination series) This sweet family is lucky to have found a foster family here in San Diego and is now READY to find their forever family. The pups are available for adoption now, however, they are not scheduled to be sterilized until early March (surgery included in the adoption fee) for this reason they can only be adopted localy to San Diego in order to ensure adopters will attend their prescheduled sterilization surgery in san diego. Once sterilized we will open adoption to all. To meet these cuties please submit an adoption application online at ARWOB If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
