goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at Application – Carolina Poodle Rescue Date into Rescue: 2/17/2026 Reason for being in rescue: Stary found in Jonesville/Union, SC Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Hayley is spayed, and up to date on all vaccines. She has a negative heartworm test. Weight: 25 lbs Height: 14in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, we are unsure of how came became a stray, a fence is best for her adventurous side. What kind of home would be best for me? Hayley is a very adaptable dog who could thrive in a variety of homes - whether laid-back and quiet, busy and fast-paced, or somewhere in between with a mix of activity and relaxation. We think Hayley would do well children that know how to interact with dogs respectfully. Hayley will likely benefit from basic training or refresher courses as she settles into her new home and learns her family’s routines and expectations. She has also been cat tested and did wonderfully, showing she could comfortably live in a home with feline friends. She has done fantastic with dogs of all sizes and absolutely loves playing and running around the yard with her canine friends. What is my personality like? Hayley is a sweet, smart Beagle who came to us as a local stray and has quickly proven herself to be a wonderful companion. Hayley enjoys a good meal, and for a Beagle, she isn’t overly driven by her nose, making her easier to manage than many of her breed. She has a playful personality paired with just the right amount of Beagle stubbornness. Hayley is intelligent, listens well, and has already shown great habits - even putting herself into her crate when it’s bedtime. While we don’t know much about her past life due to her being found as a stray, we believe Haley was once a loved family pet who may have simply gotten loose and never made her way home. With her friendly nature, playful spirit, and easygoing temperament, Hayley is ready to become a beloved member of almost any family willing to give her love and guidance. How do I act when I first meet new people? Hayley isn't the jump into a new person lap kind of dog, but she is friendly and will greet everyone with a soft tail wag and gentle lowering or her head for pets. She is gentle and kind. Other tips and tidbits: We do not know Hayleys actual birthday as she is a stray. We have no history on her pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she has been estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate her birthday 02/26/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive — and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
