nimal control along with another doggie friend. I think I can speak for both us when I say we are grateful to now be part of the MM family! I’m enjoying spreading all the love around to the volunteers at the shelter, and I am now ready to bring lots of joy to my new home! Let’s meet and see if we are the perfect match for a life of love and fun! You’ll notice, I’ve been fed too much in the past, so I’m on the green bean diet and would like my family to help me shed some weight. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve liked the other dogs I have met at Mostly Mutts, and I came in with another doggie, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: A charming guy with an adorable underbite, I’m a sturdy boy who can best be described as ‘a big chunk of fun’! The volunteers – especially my bather – agree that I am also an absolute love bug – ready to give hugs and kisses upon request. Affectionate and well-mannered, I stood calmly for my bath and will stand on my hind legs for a treat. I’m sure to win my new family over with lots of love! / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands, and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’m doing well with my potty habits on the shelter schedule and have had very few accidents. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like being with my people and am always up for a fun play session with toys. Giving and receiving cuddles and kisses is a favorite pastime of mine – so please join me! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
