sted in any of our wonderful dogs, you must FIRST fill out an Adoption Application at our website listed below. Once we receive it, we'll forward it to the foster family for follow up. We are 100% foster based, so we don't have a facility. Review the process FAQ at our website. Adoption applications can be found here: labrescuefresno/available-labs/adoption-application/ Adoption Fees: Puppies, (2 years of age and under) – $400.00 Adult Dog, (3 through 8 years of age) – $350.00 Senior Dogs (9 years and up) – $200.00 Special consideration may be granted for dogs with medical needs or bonded pairs. Venus – Black Female, 3-4 yrs., 60 lbs. and Serena Serena – Black Female Doodle, 2-3 yrs., 62 lbs. Contestant: Alex, I’d like the category “Synergy” for $200, please. Alex: The answer is: Examples include peanut butter and jelly, cake and ice cream, or Venus and Serena. Contestant: Alex, what are things that are greater together than alone? Winner! Winner! You might think Venus and Serena are tennis legends, but here at Lab Rescue, they’re two incredible pups looking for their forever home. We know some people think, “I only want one dog,” but hear us out: these two came to us as a bonded pair and truly love each other. Separating them would break their hearts, so we’re looking for a home willing to adopt both. Venus is a 3-4 year old sleek, petite 60 pound black lab—affectionate and protective in all the right ways. She loves cuddles and will alert you to any visitors and if Serena is being naughty with her watchful bark. Serena is a black, 62 pound 2-3 year old labradoodle with a super-soft coat and a calm, independent personality. She’s easygoing and perfectly content to curl up by your feet while Venus hogs you. Together, they’re the ultimate duo: Both are housebroken. Prefer to share a food bowl (and a crate which we didn’t let happen). Kid- and cat-friendly, but not a fan of other dogs. They have each other and don’t want anyone else. Slept through their first night uncrated, but they also love their crate. They do not dig…or chase tennis balls which was a serious disappointment due to their names. Both are low energy level. They want affection and all the treats you can afford. Life with Venus and Serena means double the love, double the fun, and two best friends who will always have each other—and you. If you’ve been dreaming of a labrador and your partner secretly wanted a doodle, here’s your chance. Venus and Serena are ready to meet their forever family—and they’re better together, just like Alex said. Contestant: Alex, I’ll take “Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno” for $1000. Alex: The answer is: Can be found at the websitelabrescuefresno. Contestant: Where can I find the adoption application for Venus and Serena? If you are interested in adopting through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, you must first fill out an Adoption Application located at our website .LabRescueFresno All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines including rabies; flea/tick topical drops, heartworm tested and microchipped. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
