Update 3/25/26 - From Adele’s foster family: Meet your new best friend, Adele! This sweet 15 pound pup is the definition of loyal, loving, and full of life. She is happiest right by your side whether you are out exploring the outdoors or just moving from room to room, she will be your little shadow every step of the way. She has a playful, energetic spirit and absolutely loves being outside. Playtime, sun bathing and soaking up the fresh air are her favorite. Her curiosity keeps life fun, as she is always eager to explore and see what is going on around her. Not only is she adorable, just wait until you see those irresistible puppy dog eyes with the heart to match. She is incredibly affectionate and does wonderfully with children, adult dogs, and other young pups. She thrives in a home where she can be part of the family and included in daily life. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will bring energy, love, and a whole lot of sweetness into your home, this little girl is ready to meet you! Original Rescue Story: This beautiful pup comes to us from the streets of Tijuana Mexico. She has a total of 6 litter mates. Her mom is full grown at 45 pounds and as of 3/20/26, Adele is 15 pounds. We believe she will be a nice medium to large sized pup when full grown, probably in the 40-60 pound range. If you are looking to adopt a young pup and have the work/school schedule that will allow you the necessary time for puppy training, we would love for this sweetheart to find a forever family that will enjoy her during her young stages of life! Adele is one of the sweetest, easy going, and most loving pups. She is a typical happy, playful, outgoing, and silly puppy. She is dying to meet you! As of 3/22/26, she is fully vaccinated and spayed. She is healthy and READY to go home to her new family! This litter was fostered from 2/12 to 3/20 in a home with adults, children, and large breed dogs with a yard setting. As of the end of March, we moved most of the family to a different foster, but Adele and her sister Zoey continue to live with the same foster family in the 92130 zip code. However, meet and greets can be scheduled in the 92130 area OR in the 92111 area once an online application has been submitted and reviewed for approval – at that time we can determine which area meets the needs of the applicant. Would you like to meet Adele? Please submit an online application TODAY at .arwob . Or you can contact us via phone or email for inquiries. We look forward to hearing from you and we know that Adele is dying to meet you! If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
