y to be here getting the good care and love I desire. I got to spend a few days in a temporary foster home and had a lot of fun there! Now I’m back at the shelter and ready to meet my new family, hopefully soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with another dog, but I did not like the dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts or in my former foster home at all, so if you have a dog, we could possibly meet with a trainer and see how we do, but I’d be thrilled to be your only dog getting all the love. I’ll be tested again soon. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts or in my former foster home, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I spent time in a foster home where I showed that I’m Mr. Personality! I settled into the home right away with no fear or concerns and was great at letting them know when I wanted pets, to be picked up, or held, etc. I’m 100% a lover with people and don’t just want to sit next to you; I want to be on your lap soaking up attention from everyone! I make friends quickly and just love people! I also make a great office buddy and will happily sit in your lap during Zoom or Teams calls if there’s room. I’d be happiest with a stay- or work-from-home family member that I can hang out with as I’m not a fan of much alone time. Now that I’m back at the shelter, the volunteers report that I’m super sweet, fun, spunky, friendly and gentle. / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning more. I also know what ‘nah-uh’ meant in my foster home and walked well on my leash. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / In my foster home, I went into my crate easily as long as I had some fun outside family time in our yard. I also napped in it at times. / In my foster home, my potty manners were great on their 3-hour schedule during the day, and I easily slept overnight without needing to go to the bathroom. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I have lots of likes - cuddles, kisses, pets, treats, and pupsicles are all favorites! I also really enjoy being with people, going for car rides, and spending time on laps - lots of laps and lots of attention, please! / I do have a few dislikes - I’m not a big fan of having my paws touched, but with some desensitization (just ask about how!), I think I can improve. I also don’t enjoy too much alone time or being picked up while I’m focused on enjoying a treat. And like any dog, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I have mild/moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’m a fun-loving spunky little dog looking for a family that wants a very affectionate lap dog. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
