as a stray and she is a HILARIOUS chonk and a half! Lesbihonest, at only 48 lbs, she is technically a little girl but look at those juicy thighs and sturdy legs. She is big and little, all at the same time, and is living the thick life with zero regrets. Fat Amy is a free-spirited free-range pony…an unstoppable force whose wild and adventurous spirit can’t be contained. She is a gal who is clearly comfortable in her own skin, has an unapologetic personality (and body positivity!) and never lets anyone hold her back. This bold and beautiful bully is (over) confident, crass, funny, unconventional, and comedic all rolled into one low-riding package. She is an extreme confidence coach and professional splooter by day, an expert cuddler by night, and does not shy away from a good time. Her hobbies include mermaid dancing into your heart, and horizontal running (she thinks napping is a productive activity!). Amy is an age-appropriate youngster who has puppy energy to burn (play hard, chill hard) and will gladly curl up on the couch to rest up for the next play sesh. She has aca-awesome energy, is fiercely loyal, and has inner and outer beauty to match. And she will take center stage wherever she goes, challenging stereotypes about her appearance and breed in the best way possible. This scene stealer gives heartfelt love to humans and dogs, loves toys, is house and crate trained, and is so freaking adorable that it should be illegal. Fat Amy is ready to Turn the Beat Around and be the eccentric heart of a forever family all her own. Even if you are pretty thin, Amy is looking for someone with a fat heart, since that’s what matters. She can’t wait to find some Barden Bellas or a Bumper to love her for all of her days! Because of her lack of history (and body awareness!), older or no kids would be best for this a cappella adventurer. Fat Amy’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family looking for a best friend to include on adventures and one who appreciates her Fat Amy energy and charismatic swagger! 2. A family who allows dogs on furniture and loves to cuddle in bed. As a stereotypical pittie, Amy likes to be close, and her body heat will help cut down on heating bills in the winter months! 3. A family who will continue molding Amy into being the awesome dog she is. Amy is a dog who is still more puppy than adult, but loves to learn, is food motivated, and is eager to please! She has done great with developing basic manners with consistency in her foster home.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
