Please read our Frequently Asked Questions and Adoption Processed Explained documentation. _________ B I O ______________ Name: Chai Size: Medium range: 26-60 lbs Adoption Donation: $250 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check.  Other:  Spayed Female, Vaccinations current, Microchip ** Chai has been working with a veterinarian who specializes in behavior for her fear of new people and situations. She was prescribed medication to assist with this. The cost for 180 tablets is around $30.00 ( this should last a couple months). To continue this medication it is recommended that care be established with a primary vet. Chai is the tea of the town! Foster Home Feedback 6/1/26 Foster Feedback: Chai had a fantastic weekend at two adoption events! She met lots of new people and continues to make great progress with men. While she’s still a little cautious at first, she happily sniffed hands, accepted treats gently, and even allowed several men to pet her. Of course she loved all the attention she could get from women & kids, including sneaking in some puppy smooches. Chai was wonderful around all of the other dogs she met and handled the busy event environment like a champ. She continues to show what a sweet, gentle girl she is and is ready to find a family willing to give her the love and confidence she deserves. We’re so proud of this good girl! 5/26/26 Temporary Care Feedback: I had the privilege of hosting Chai for the Memorial Day weekend, and she rocked the chaos! When I volunteered to watch her, I didn’t know my kids, grandkids, and their dogs would be home. I am proud to announce that she loved my 7 grandkids, ages 3-16. She did great with my own elderly Puggle and 3 grand-dogs, one of which is an unruly golden retriever. She was very timid with my adult sons but was not at all stressed. This beautiful sweet baby girl would love a home with a doggy sibling! 5/15/26 Foster Feedback: Chai is a 7-month-old sweetheart looking for her forever home! She’s a quiet, gentle girl. She is crate trained, who sleeps in her crate all night. She does well with children, other dogs, and cats. She stays off the furniture & loves to snuggle in her dog beds. She is great on walks & does an adorable snort when she is sniffing her surroundings. Chai is learning basic commands like sit and come well! She comes right away when you say her name. She takes treats very gently and shows no guarding behaviors with toys or food. Chai is also doing well with potty training and has no accidents with her regularly being let out. She also keeps her kennel clean & has not made a mess. She is still gaining confidence around adult men and would do best with a family willing to give her time, patience, and understanding as she builds trust. Chai is an all around sweet pup that would love to be next to you and be your next best friend! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: .4luvofdog

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
