When playtime is over, Trooper is all about cuddles. He loves relaxing on the couch with his people, but he's also respectful of your space. If you're not in the mood to snuggle, he'll happily settle down on the other end of the couch.
Trooper is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, rides well in the car, and is comfortable wearing a muzzle. He's currently living with several medium and large dogs and does very well with them.
Trooper also lives with cats. Most of the time he ignores them or gives them a quick sniff, but he can become interested if they suddenly run, so supervision is recommended around cats.
He has done wonderfully with children. He currently lives with a 12-year-old boy and has been gentle and affectionate with him. He has also met a 3-month-old baby, whom he politely sniffed and then walked away from, and he did great with 4-year-old twins, happily giving them kisses. Based on his experiences, he would likely do well in a home with respectful children.
Trooper's biggest challenge is that he is initially fearful of men. When scared, he may bark, growl, and keep his distance, which can sometimes be mistaken for aggression. However, with slow, patient introductions and time to build trust, he becomes much more comfortable. He is especially affectionate and confident around women.
Trooper is a kind, loyal dog who just needs understanding, patience, and a few furry friends by his side. If you're looking for a loving companion with a goofy personality and a big heart, Trooper may be the perfect match. ❤️
