Meet Dylan! This handsome 1-year-old Irish Wolfhound mix weighs in at 80 pounds and is a lovable goofball with a heart every bit as big as he is. Beneath his tall frame is an incredibly sweet boy who is ready to find a family to call his own.
Dylan can be a little shy when faced with new situations or things he’s unsure about, but once he realizes he’s safe, he settles in and shows his true personality. He is a gentle, submissive soul who just wants reassurance and love. With a little patience and encouragement, Dylan quickly learns that the world isn't such a scary place after all.
This sweet boy gets along great with most dogs and even does well with cats too! He loves people of all sizes and has already learned the dog door and does wonderfully in his kennel. Dylan is looking for a family that will continue helping him build confidence and show him that life can be happy, safe, and full of love.
If you're looking for a big, goofy, gentle best friend who will reward your kindness with endless love, Dylan may be your perfect match.
Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)
You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.
His adoption fee is $300. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.
Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at .saspca.

Our adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.
Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.
Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.
All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.
We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.
Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
