He can hop onto the bed with the help of a bench, and if a home doesn’t have one, he’d simply need a little lift. Louis gets around beautifully, is a crate trained dream, and has never had a potty accident—he goes out four times a day and keeps a perfect routine. He’s not a big fan of being picked up unless it’s to be placed in bed, but he’ll happily jump onto the couch to snuggle while you watch TV!
He’s hesitant with stairs but can manage them, and he’d thrive in a relaxed home—ideally with a retired person or someone who works from home—where he can be the center of attention. Louis enjoys short walks, leisurely backyard time, and “patrolling” the yard to make sure everything is in order. He’s great on a leash, doesn’t need much exercise, and is perfectly content being left in his crate when you’re away. Louis is wonderful with respectful kids, fine with other dogs (though he mostly ignores them), and would likely do well with a cat after a proper meet and greet.
