Meet Ivan!
Ivan is an adorable 18-month-old, 14-pound Terrier mix with a sweet personality and a playful spirit. This little guy is full of love and ready to find a family of his own!
Ivan does great with other dogs and enjoys having furry friends to play and hang out with. He is doing well with housebreaking with the use of the dog door and also does well in a kennel.
Ivan did test positive for heartworms, but he has completed his treatment with the fast-kill method using Diroban injections. He is doing great and should test negative on his next heartworm test in 6 months.
Ivan loves people of all sizes and has an easygoing, friendly personality that makes him a wonderful fit for many different types of homes. Whether he’s playing with his dog friends, spending time with his people, or just being his happy little self, Ivan is sure to bring lots of joy and companionship to his new family.

Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)
You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.
His adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.
Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at .saspca.
Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories
Adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.
Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.
Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.
All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.
We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.
Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
