missive of her siblings and tends to happily follow along with whatever everyone else is doing rather than insisting on being the one in charge. She’s also a total mama’s girl who loves affection, snuggles, and being close to those she loves.
Nigiri does wonderfully with other dogs and spends plenty of time playing with her siblings. She’s an active puppy who could happily romp and wrestle all day if someone didn’t eventually insist that it was time to rest! Because she enjoys canine companionship so much, she could benefit from having a playful dog friend in her future home.
She has also been wonderful with her foster family’s 2-year-old daughter. Nigiri is gentle, comfortable being held, and has shown no concerning behavior around children. She’s already getting exposure to lots of different people, dogs, sounds, and everyday experiences, which her foster family feels will help her adapt nicely to a variety of home environments.
Nigiri is still working on house training, but she’s already building some good habits. She reliably goes to the bathroom when taken outside and will often start looking for an appropriate potty spot when she needs to go indoors. She’ll need her new family to continue with a consistent routine and lots of positive reinforcement as she masters this important puppy skill.
Leash walking, on the other hand, is still very much a work in progress. Nigiri and her siblings currently think their leashes make excellent chew toys, so there’s plenty left to learn before they become polished walking companions!
Nigiri is used to spending time in a puppy pen and having some time away from her foster family during the day, although she generally has other dogs around her. Since she’s still teething and house training, she should continue to be crated or safely confined when no one is available to supervise her. She also does well in a carrier.
This sweet girl enjoys chew toys, fetch toys, cozy blankets, and beds. Her regular kibble works well as a training reward, and she is beginning to understand coming when called, although she hasn’t completely mastered it yet.
After all that puppy play, Nigiri knows exactly how to relax. One of her most endearing habits is seeking out a warm patch of sunshine and curling up for a nap. If there’s a sunspot anywhere nearby, Nigiri will find it and sleep there like a little lamb.
Nigiri would thrive with a loving family who wants a sweet, playful companion and is prepared for all the patience and consistency that puppyhood requires. She’d love plenty of snuggles, playtime, and possibly a canine friend to follow on her adventures. In return, she’ll bring a gentle spirit, lots of puppy fun, and an impressive ability to make any sunny spot look like the coziest place on earth.
