dorable Lord of the Rings themed puppies! I’m a darling little puppy who came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a great home and family to raise me! I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I’m one of the best puppies in all of Middle Earth! Come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I love my siblings and did well with the other dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a friendly, sweet puppy who may be a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly and love being with people. I have a nice mix of calm and playful energy—I was wonderfully relaxed and fearless during my bath, yet active, vocal, and full of fun during my photo session. I’m an adorable pup who’s ready to bring lots of love, laughter, and puppy adventures to my forever family. / Energy level: currently 4-6, of course this could change as I grow up. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already learned the ‘come’ command and I know how to accept friendly strangers without jumping on them! I look forward to learning even more. Let’s continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers (once I’ve had all my puppy shots) for all their adopted dogs! I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog—including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy. / You can crate train me. / I’m just a baby so I’ll need my family to potty train me in my new home. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with toys, romping around the Mostly Mutts play yard, and doing a funny little army crawl to scratch my tummy! Tug-of-war is one of my favorite games, and I also enjoy digging like any curious puppy. As I grow and settle into my forever home, I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other favorite activities together! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow. I’m also micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
