love. I came in heartworm positive, but I’ll be treated for that soon, so local adoption please. I’m so grateful that Mostly Mutts was able to take me in and I am happy to be soaking up all the love from the volunteers. Now I'm ready to find a wonderful home of my own. Perhaps with you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and was interested, but gave a few concerned side-eye glances so if you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, handsome boy who just wants to be close to you. Honestly, I love being carried—it makes me feel safe and special. Bath time was a little scary for me; that sprayer is intense. But I’m proud of myself because I just stood at the edge of the tub and leaned into my bather, trusting her completely. Brushing? Oh, I’m great for brushing. My hair is nice, soft, and I enjoy the attention. I’m a total cuddle bug, happiest when I’m pressed against you, soaking up affection. Toys don’t really interest me, but treats and snuggles absolutely do. Walking isn’t my favorite thing; sometimes I’d rather not move at all. But once we get to the grass, I’ll pee right away like a good boy. I’m active in my own way—curious, alert, and always ready to engage with you, even if toys aren’t my thing. I’m a gentle soul who thrives on closeness, reassurance, and love. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned and let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners have been good at the shelter. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like getting attention from my people and a little Pup-Peroni treat. I’m sure we’ll discover lots more things we like to do together! / I’m not sure about walks and I haven’t shown interest in toys yet, but maybe you can teach me how fun they can be. Like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. Sadly, I wasn’t kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, so I’m heartworm positive. The good news is that I’ll be treated for that in October 2026, and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet. I hope to be with my new family before treatment begins! I’m looking for a wonderful family to love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
