smart, playful, curious, and has the kind of personality that makes you smile just watching her figure out the world.
Diamond spent nearly a year at a boarding facility in California, so she is now discovering that the world is a MUCH bigger place than a kennel. New people? Interesting. New experiences? Hmmm... let's investigate. Weird things she has never seen before? She is working on it!
The wonderful thing about Diamond is that she really tries to be the best girl. She wants to do the right thing, and you can almost see the wheels turning as she learns about all these new things she may not have experienced while living at the kennel. Give her a little patience, encouragement, and guidance, and she is eager to figure it out.
It is also VERY apparent that Diamond has had some serious obedience training. She knows her commands and clearly understands what is expected of her. She sits when its leash time, sits when the door opens and waits for you to tell her to go through. We suspect she may have spent some time as a board-and-train at the kennel she was at because this girl has some impressive skills!
She loves going for walks and is a fantastic car passenger. Diamond is quite happy riding shotgun, taking in the scenery and making sure everyone is following proper driving procedures.
And then there is the ball. Diamond LOVES to play ball. Throw it, she is on it. Throw it again, she is ready. And again. And again. We are pretty sure she would happily make ball retrieval her full-time career if someone would just keep the paycheck coming in tennis balls.
Diamond is dog-friendly. Once she feels comfortable with humans, her playful personality comes out. She is affectionate, curious, and wants to be involved in whatever her people are doing.
She isn't normally much of a talker, but put her in a crate and suddenly she has a LOT to say. Apparently, Diamond believes being crated is the perfect time to provide everyone within earshot with her thoughts on the situation.
She is also learning about some of the stranger things that come with being a house dog. The robot vacuum, or computer printer, for example, neither has not exactly won her endorsement. She is still reviewing those particular pieces of technology. She clearly does not approve.
Diamond is such a fun combination of youthful energy, intelligence, sweetness, and personality. She is learning every day, and watching her gain confidence as she experiences new things is pretty special. She would love a family who will continue her training, give her plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, play lots of ball, take her on adventures, and help her learn that all those new and sometimes weird things in the world are actually okay. Diamond tends to be very clingy once she determines you are her person.
She does startle easily by new things so a fully fenced yard will be required. Clearly learning about the outside world in her foster home.
Diamond is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventative. She is ready to keep learning, keep playing, and most importantly, finally have a family of her own. Diamond is fostered in Arizona. Adopters will need to travel to meet and adopt.

Application Submission: Complete the adoption application thoroughly. Incomplete applications may be denied.(uniteddobermanrescue) We are 100% volunteer, please read adoption requirements BEFORE reaching out to us. Home Visit: A volunteer will schedule a home visit to assess the environment and discuss your expectations. All household members, including children, must be present.(uniteddobermanrescue) Veterinary Reference Check: Provide contact information for your current veterinarian. All existing pets must be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm preventative.(uniteddobermanrescue) Meeting Dogs: Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs in their foster homes. If you have a resident dog, consult with the foster about bringing them along. Adoption Finalization: If a suitable match is found, you'll sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Due to COVID-19 precautions, same-day adoptions are currently permitted. Key Adoption Policies
Age Requirement: Adopters must be at least 21 years old and reside in the home where the dog will live.(uniteddobermanrescue) WE do NOT ship our dogs ever!!! Children: Adult dogs are not placed in homes with children under 6 years old. Puppies may be considered for such homes if a fenced yard is present.(uniteddobermanrescue) Living Arrangements: Dogs must live indoors and not be left unattended outdoors. Training Commitment: Adopters should be prepared to continue training and socialization. Formal obedience classes are encouraged.(uniteddobermanrescue) Health Considerations: Dobermans are prone to certain health issues. Adopters should be financially prepared for potential veterinary expenses and consider pet insurance.
