Gucci #2 | 2 yrs Shepherd mix | Your gentle shadow with a playful streak
Gucci is a handsome white-and-red Shepherd mix who blends a calm, easygoing nature with a fun, playful side. He enjoys long walks, playtime with other dogs, and proudly carrying around toys (or the occasional shoe) when he’s excited to see you. He especially loves toys — Nylabones are a particular favorite — and he never says no to spread cheese or peanut butter on a licking mat. He’s house trained with little to no accidents in his foster home, though as with any dog adjusting to a new environment, adopters should expect there may be a few accidents while he settles in and learns a new routine.
In the home, Gucci is affectionate, well-mannered, and loves being near his people. He’ll offer his paw for attention and settles in nicely after his daily walks. He knows several commands including sit, stay, come, and leave it, and is very food-motivated, which makes him eager to keep learning. He walks fairly well on leash, though he can pull at times as he continues to improve.
Gucci has done great with other dogs of similar size and would likely enjoy a playful companion, but he’d also be happy as your one-and-only. His experience with cats and kids is unknown, but he has been friendly with everyone he’s met so far.
Gucci recently completed his treatment for heartworm , which is not contagious, and he is expected to go on to live a healthy, happy life. For the next few weeks, he’ll need to keep things calm and stick to a low-activity lifestyle while his body fully recovers. He’ll have a final test to confirm that the treatment was successful, and once he gets the all-clear, he can return to his normal activities.
His ideal home includes a fenced yard and people who are around often to enjoy his loyal, loving companionship. Gucci is a sweet, steady presence who will quickly become your best friend.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
