re information) Meet BJ! Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and through no fault of their own, wonderful dogs find themselves looking for a new forever home. That’s how BJ came back to us—and we’re determined to make sure her next home is truly forever. BJ was born in a rural Georgia shelter back in 2025 alongside her 8 siblings and their amazing mama, Nala. Thanks to SNARR, our rescue partners, and a loving foster home, the whole family got a second chance. And at just two months old, BJ was adopted and went on to grow up in a loving home alongside two other dogs and cats she happily considered part of her pack. Now just over one year old, BJ has grown into a beautiful, happy, confident girl with so much love to give. Unfortunately, due to a change in her adopter’s personal circumstances, they are no longer able to care for BJ and have made the incredibly difficult decision to ask us to help find her a new home. And while we’re sad that BJ’s first chapter has come to an end, we know her best days are still ahead of her. A few things we know about this good girl -- BJ loves to romp around, wrestle, and have fun with other dogs who can keep up with her rough-and-tumble play style. She's friendly with everyone she meets and is the kind of girl who enjoys getting outside, exploring, and burning off some of that youthful energy—and then, when playtime is over, she’s perfectly content to curl up beside you on the couch or snuggle with you in bed. Having grown up with both dogs and cats, she already has experience being part of a multi-pet household and will make a great addition to many families. BJ is looking for someone who will appreciate her playful spirit, give her plenty of opportunities for exercise and adventure, and then happily make room for her when it’s time to relax. Most of all, she needs someone who will make a lifelong commitment to her and give her the stability, love, and care she deserves. BJ has already known what it feels like to have a family. Now she’s hoping to find the one she’ll never have to leave. Could you be the forever person BJ has been waiting for? IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at snarrnortheast/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
