He is a friendly, affectionate, social dog who loves being around people and is ready to find someone who will truly commit to him for the rest of his life.
Jasper does well with other dogs and kids, and he has lived with cats. He is a sweet, outgoing companion who would love to be included in family adventures, daily routines, couch time, and everything in between. He has a joyful spirit and the kind of personality that can brighten a room. He is also cuddly and loves being close to his people.
Jasper was recently returned to the shelter after two months because he was chewing on things in the home and occasionally marking. These behaviors can often be improved with consistent training, supervision, structure, and patience. Jasper will need an adopter who is prepared to keep a close eye on him as he adjusts, redirect him to appropriate chew toys, provide plenty of exercise and enrichment, and continue working on his house manners. A belly band may also be helpful while he learns and settles into his new routine.
