Seriously… look at this handsome, thick, gorgeous boy. Sullivan came to us from a large multi-dog situation where he didn’t have the opportunity to experience all the things that make a dog’s life wonderful. You would never know it now — he has acclimated to his foster home amazingly fast and is discovering just how great the good life can be! He loves playing with the foster pups and also enjoys hanging out with some of his former friends who are now in the foster home with him. He’s easygoing with other dogs and has no issues eating alongside them. And then there is Sullivan’s Richter scale. We’re giving him about a 2.5! He likes to play, but this thick young man firmly believes that lounging around is a perfectly respectable lifestyle. Why waste energy when there are couches and dog beds? Sullivan is completely house trained. He is crate familiar but not yet crate trained. He’s also learning about walking on a leash — he isn’t terrible, he just hasn’t quite figured out what we humans are asking him to do yet! He can be a little shy because he didn’t have much individual interaction with people in his previous life. But he’s gaining confidence every day and discovering that people can be pretty wonderful. He has not been around small children or cats, although his foster has grown children and doesn’t anticipate issues with kids. Proper introductions would be important with any new animals. Sullivan is the low-maintenance dream Lab for someone who wants a wonderful companion without needing a marathon-running partner. A nice walk to explore? We’re sure he’d enjoy it.
