Carlie is not available for adoption at this time.
Meet Carlie <3 Formerly known as Violet, Carlie was confiscated from her owners in February. She was chained outside in an area of nothing but dirt and no protection from the elements. She was living in LA at the time. She was soaking wet and freezing when animal control came to pick her up. Once released off the chain, she collapsed in the arms of the officer.
Carlie spent some time in LA with one of SSRR's Board Members until she was well enough to travel to her foster home in Florida. We were shocked at all the issues she had at her first vet visit. Due to her lack of care, she was anemic, full of various types of worms, coccidia and heartworm positive plus had an infection in both eyes. She weighed in at a mere 54 pounds. She was so weak, she could barely stand up by herself.
In March, her foster Mom drove to MS and met her short term foster and drove Carlie to FL. Fast forward to April, she is up to 78 pounds, intestinal worm free and will begin heartworm treatment in early June. Once her treatment is completed, she will then be spayed and have her teeth cleaned.
She is a super sweet girl, with a little bit of fluff to her fur, who absolutely LOVES being with her people. She currently lives with 3 others rottweilers, a great dane , a medium size mixed breed and 6 cats!!
Once she is ready for adoption, she would do best in a one-story home. Again, due to her neglect, she is visually and hearing impaired. She can see, but mostly right in front of her. Her hearing is limited, as well. But, do not let that deter you from giving this amazing dog a home.
Opening up your home and heart to Carlie, will return back to you tenfold!!
Carlie has a fundraiser for her medical needs. If you are able to help with Carlie's medical fund in any way, SSRR (and Carlie) will be very appreciative. Any amount, no matter how small, will help. The small donations add up quickly. To donate to Callie's medical fund, click on this link... https://www.youcaring.com/ssrrscarlie-1094714
