Please see information at the bottom of this listing to find the pickup stop that is most convenient for you - they are advertised in your area because you are awesome adopters, and all we want for them is the very best!!** ----------------- 1.27.18 RIAN has a coat that is so beautiful and shiny. Of the 4 male puppies in this litter that were rescued from a shelter in South Arkansas, RIAN is the 2nd largest of the 4 boys. RIAN loves everybody, all other dogs, and is not shy at all. He LOVES to play, and he loves to be held in your arms and LOVES to give you kisses. All of these babies are in foster at my house. They have been out of the shelter since 12/31/17 - Happy New Year, especially for these babies. This puppy now has a chance for a wonderful life! Maybe it could be with you :) He has been neutered, has had 2 sets of shots, wormed, bordetella, protected from ticks, fleas, and heartworms and will be microchipped. RIAN was neutered on 1/27/18, got his rabies vaccination, and he is 100% healthy per the veterinarian. He weighed 24 pounds on this date. As you know, Labrador and Australian Shepherds are so intelligent, and can be trained for whatever you wish. RIAN's adoption donation is $375, which covers the costs of all medical attention has received, all preventative meds, the microchip, and all of those associated costs!! A 3rd set of puppy shots, and a rabies vaccination will be needed when your veterinarian says they are old enough, as they are too young right now. TRANSPORT INFORMATION: The transportation company's website is: http://rescueryders.homesteadcloud.com PLEASE check out their website for the weekend of 2/2/18, this will be Route 2(B) - Click on that link, and find the stop that is closest, or most easily accessible, for you to reach. We will make the reservation for you. The transport fee is $140 - this is in addition to the adoption donation, as they are a different company. The transport company makes it easy for you - you just hand them $140 cash when you pick your new family member up at the stop you have chosen :) Please contact krun11@sbcglobal.net for more information, and thank you SO MUCH for wanting to help a rescued puppy!! Our adoption donation for pets 6 months of age and younger is $375. This includes spay or neuter, all age appropriate vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, all flea and tick preventative, any medical necesseties they may have needed, and all the love they could possibly stand!! PLUS a microchip. All of these fees are included. Transport charges $140 to bring your babies from Arkansas up to you. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
