application. If the family changes their mind for any reason, an alternate application will be chosen. If you would like to be considered, please feel free to submit one for her. Thank you. Hi! My name is Moltres. I am a very happy little puppy. I am lucky, I live indoors. I get a cool floor or a soft bed to sleep on(my choice). I am very energetic. I love to run indoors and outdoors. I have siblings so I am never alone. We fight and play all the time. I have no cat experience but I saw a bird once. It flew away when I walked toward it. I am not afraid of strangers. I like to be hugged and loved. I play with toys. I chase balls that are rolled but that&#;s all. I like toys that crinkle. I can do a little tug-o-war. Does pulling my siblings ears count? I am not potty trained to potty outside but I can pee and poop on my foster mommy&#;s homemade pee pads. I will need my new family&#;s help with many things but I will be worth all the time and effort. Will that be you? A word from my Foster Mommy..... Hi. My name is Anna. I am Moltres&#; foster mommy. This adorable little puppy has so much fun energy. She loves attention. She loves to be held and gives puppy kisses. She is so soft and cuddly in my arms. I love her tricolor fur. Photographing black fur dogs can be challenging so I really hope you can see all the beauty I get to in person. She is still young and will need training to become the best companion she can possibly be. I have no doubt that she will make a great addition to someone&#;s family. Moltres will not be available for adoption until August th. However, I am accepting applications for her now. If you would like to be considered for her, you will need to submit an online application from Animal Compassion Team&#;s website. Only an approved application will be allowed to meet her. I prefer to communicate through email. I try to reply back quickly, even if it&#;s just to let you know that I have received your application or inquiry. Please feel free to email me with any additional questions at annaanimalcompassionteam Thank you for your interest in my foster. {scode/} All animals adopted from ACT are spayed/neutered, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped prior to adoption. 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
