Posted Breed: Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Opal needs a foster home, or better yet, her own forever home! She has been in a shelter environment for about 8 mo so desperately needs to get out and stretch her beautiful long legs for more than just a short time, a few times per day. Even though she’s primarily kenneled, Opal is still a happy girl that will really thrive in the country! She is a big, 2yr old, 90lb girl that just wants to run, explore and play in a very large yard or better yet, a piece of property. And if she hears something amiss, she will let out her big booming bark to chase off unwanted guests and critters. Although she really is a sweet, submissive, very affectionate girl with her people. Her deep bark makes strangers think twice about coming in unless invited. She’s the perfect property guard dog! She will also bark when she’s ready to come inside to hang out with the family or to nap in her kennel during the day. She is wonderful with people and loves to lay her head in your lap for lots of petting. . She likes to play ‘catch me if you can’ with her people so a teenage child that has plenty of energy for her would be ideal. She does still need training and she’s a big girl so kids must be over 14yrs old. Although she can get along with some other medium to large dogs, she can be selective and a bit bossy so it would be best if she is the only dog in the home. She will do best living in a rural area. Her property or yard must be securely fenced. Barn cats are ok but no indoor kitties please. Email infok9rr and include your phone number if you could consider fostering or even adopting Miss Opal.
