Posted Breed: Border Collie / German Shorthaired Pointer / Mixed (short coat). If you are looking for a handsome, sweet, gentle, cuddly companion look no further! Meet Hudson! This sweet guy is an estimated 6 year old, Pointer ?? Border Collie ?? mix ! While we don’t know his exact breed make up, we know he’s a 100% adorable, good boy! Hudson came to us from a full shelter after being found as a stray and never claimed. We took him in committed to finding him the happily ever after he deserves! He has been in our prison training program and has done great. He is very smart and eager to please. He can get easily distracted at times but responds quickly to his handler reminding him he knows how to listen :). Being middle-aged Hudson has matured from the typical hyper nature of his potential breed mixes! These days he is quite thrilled to take it easy, hang out with his owner and get all the love. He enjoys walks, playing fetch and chasing small things in the yard. His energy is by no means excessive. Hudson has shown interest in chasing cats, cars and other moving objects while on a walk. He will need a home with a securely fenced in yard or an owner committed to keeping him safely on a leash at all times while outside. Hudson can be ok with other dogs with slow, proper introductions. He highly prefers playing ball and hanging out with his human! With his tendency to chase cats, we don’t feel comfortable placing him in a home with them. Hudson also prefers older (teenage +) children. Hudson has shown a bit of resource guarding so we recommend feeding him in his crate and avoiding high value treats. We are happy to discuss this more in depth with interested adopters! He is around 60 pounds, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heart worm negative.
