Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Wheeler is ready to drive his way into your heart! This little man is hyper-affectionate and wants to be all over his people. Whether he is raining licks and kisses all over you, or snuggled up tightly against your body - he is happiest getting love from his human. When he can't be touching his person, he wants to be wrapped around any dog that will tolerate Wheeler's boundary-blurring physical needs. Wheeler is a young guy who still has a bit of energy to burn. Wheeler's will need a bit of extra training for his mouthy behaviors and to support his progress on housebreaking. Wheeler came to PAWS with a previous injury to one of his hind legs. The injury is stable, but Wheeler will sometimes limp and lift that leg while walking. Wheeler's future adopter should be aware that if Wheeler exacerbates his injury more he may need a surgery later in life to correct his leg and he is prone to early-onset arthritis. Currently, he is taking daily medication to help control any discomfort he may be feeling from his leg. Wheeler would do best in a home where his people can be home often. But if Wheeler needs to be left alone, he'd love to have a dog to snuggle. Wheeler is in foster care living with a large dog and multiple cats. Wheeler has been hit or miss with conducting himself around cats but any home that has cats and Wheeler should have space for the cats to be without a little man that may bark and chase them.
