Posted Breed: Dachshund / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Freddy is all ears! Freddy is a 3-month-old lovebug who is looking for his fur-ever home. He is always eager for all things fun, but also will never turn down some cuddles with his favorite people. He is a curious boy who is still learning all about the world and can't wait to be your new best friend. Freddy currently weighs around 8lbs and will likely be around 25lbs when fully grown. Freddy came to us from the Yolo County Animal Shelter after he was found as a stray and never claimed by a family. He is now thriving in one of our foster homes and oh so ready to be adopted. Freddy is as sweet as can be but can be a little shy when meeting new people or when in new places. He gets braver every day and is looking for a family that will help him build his confidence and dedicate lots of time to continuing his socialization. He is still working on all his basic manners and needs a family ready to work on all his training with him. Freddy is full of puppy energy and would do best with a family that can keep up with his playful personality. He has learned that he loves to play fetch and is the cutest little guy racing after his toys. Once he's burnt all his energy off, he is the cuddliest guy and wastes no time to find his place on the couch with his foster family. Freddy has done well with the other dogs he has met and could be a great little brother for another playful pup. He currently lives with cats and could do well in a home with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper introduction. Freddy could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Freddy has been doing great with his housetraining, but will still have occasional accidents, so his new family will need to be patient with him while he is still learning. Freddy has been doing well with crate training, and sleeps through the night in his crate and when home alone. Freddy is such a little sweetheart. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
