Posted Breed: Shepherd / Collie / Mixed. Lark is not ready for adoption and will not be ready to meet families until sometime in April. Pretty petite Lark was found under a house with two other dogs and their puppies. She is around 2 years old and we believe she is a Shepherd mixed with maybe Aussie Shepherd or Border Collie. She has soft, rust colored red fur and is medium sized at around 30 lbs. She is lightweight and very fast. Lark came to us with a limp in her back leg from an old hip injury. She received surgery for this injury and will spend the next several weeks in a foster home recovering. She can't wait to run and play again. When she is finally cleared, Lark would do best in a home with a big yard for her to run and play in and with a playful dog sibling. She loves the company of other dogs and gets along great with them after a proper introduction. She bonds closely to her people and is very sweet. Lark is housetrained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She is still learning the leash and can be a bit wary of people jogging or on bicycles or scooters so will need a family committed to continuing her training and working with her. She is food motivated and smart. She is looking for an active adopter that will keep her brain and body exercised. She would be a great dog to do agility training or other dog sports with, and while she won't be a good running buddy, she would be fine with hikes and other outdoors adventures.
