Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown, likely yes Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Moxxy is a sweet and funny little girl with some energy! She loves to play with toys and other dogs. Moxxy is looking for her forever human that she can curl up and cuddle with in their lap. Moxxy enjoys going on walks and being outside. She is getting the hang of her leash walking skills. At bed time she goes into her crate willingly for a treat and sleeps through the night. During the day she will bark a little when you leave her in the crate but eventually settles down. Moxxy is mostly potty trained and has been using a doggy door. Her family will have to help her keep the structure in place to keep up her good puppy manners. She is a smart cookie and is learning the basics quickly! Moxxy has not met children but would do well with older children that can play with her. She gets a little excited so small children she may need to learn manners with. Moxxy is a social butterfly looking for her forever home to settle in with! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
