Dog's Name: Arnold Estimated Breed : Hound mix Approximate Age: 3 years Approximate Weight: approx. 60 lbs Currently Living at: Foster Adoption Fee: $375 DOG'S DESCRIPTION Arnie is friendly with kids and other dogs! This big guy is outgoing but also very calm and mellow. Arnold is crate trained, polite on a leash, and quiet in the house. He would be a perfect fit for any size home environment. Arnie is very intelligent and responsive to training, and he LOVES hiking! Arnold does well with other dogs, in fact he shares his kennel with a doggy roomate. However he would also do well as a solo dog. This big guy will make a wonderful family pet! He wasn't cared for properly by his previous owners so he had heartworm disease, but K-9 Lifesavers has taken care of the treatment and he's good as new! Now all he needs is a furever home! To learn more about heartworm please visit: http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/guide/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-myths Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
